WA Engineering was formed in 1977 and moved to it’s present premises in 1980. Over the next few years the factory units either side of the company were bought and extended to form the present site of 2000 sq metres.

During recent years the original machining base of the company has been complimented with a purpose built mezzanine floor for customer’s assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Even more recently WA Engineering has been fortunate enough to be able to purchase a second company - Briton Engineering. Briton has the advantage that it’s expertise lies in small batch production and jigs and fixtures. This allows WA to offer a total service.

Quality has always been regarded as of prime importance and WA was accredited with ISO9002 in 1990. This aspect has developed to include SPC, AQPQ and FMEAs as tools to enhance our reputation for “right first time”.

With the need to continually change and improve our service in all areas WA is also committed to the new quality standard QS9000.

Today WA employs 65 people, working a 24 hour, 5 day week operation allowing an almost totally flexible organisation. Investment runs at 12 to 15% of turnover in order to maintain our competitive edge by continual replacement of our CNC machines.
